July 15, 2010 – I’ll be supporting a composite team of Canadians for the 2010 Tour of Tobago running September 28th to October 3rd. If you’re looking to cap off your season with a real exclamation point contact me. I’m looking to fill out a team of six strong S1/2 riders or top M1s – check out the race website – here.
The organizer has been very generous over the years with:
– free hotel
– ree rental car
– food allowance
Really, all you have to do is get there. Flights are currently priced at around $650 return from Toronto to Tobago. Flying from Seattle is a cheap solution on the west coast, and is priced similarly. We may be subject to discounts from Caribbean Air, but I have to provide head counts to them first.
What else can I say about the trip, other than what I’ve written before – here and here – and since that last report the roads have all been newly paved! Great memories and crazy stories every time I go. Also, make sure to Google Tobago to see how beautiful the island is itself.
Over the years I have attended with the following riders. I’m sure they would be more than happy to reminisce of their experience. If you see them on the road, get the low down – Peter Morse, Bruce Krip, David Fry, Joe Guilliano, Kevin Hazzard, Brandon Throop, Alex Bhogal, Darko Ficko, Trevor Connor, Jean-Michel Lachance, Jonathon Gormick, Vincent Veilleux-Lessard, Matthew O’Hagan, Chris Reid, Danielle Defrancheschi.
