January 12, 2010 – The Caribbean island nation of Trinidad and Tobago is set to host the Tobago Cycling Classic from September 28 – October 3, 2010. The event boasts international road racing with men’s and women’s professional teams vying for the spotlight. However, there are stage race options available for all categories, from Juveniles to Masters. The pro races battle over five stages for a total of 600km, but the most unique part of the cycling festival is the Caribbean culture, which includes a cycling parade through towns and villages, “Rum Punch’ Boat Tour and Picnic, Barbeque, and a “Calypso’ Party.
Race Program
Division 1 – Main Event – International Pro Teams; Elite Teams and National Teams – 5 Stages – 600km – Entry Fee: US$ 40.00 per cyclist.
Division 2 – Open – Juveniles, Juniors, Masters, Ladies and Cat 3, 4, 5 Cyclists – 4 Stages – 300km – Entry Fee: US $25.00 per cyclist.
Division 3 – Recreational – Non competitive and casual cyclists – 3 Stages – 150km – Entry Fee: US$ 20.00 per cyclist.
