FaCT WE-SEARCH Camps 2010

FaCT-Canada (www.fact-canada.com) is a leading company for high performance testing and “Biofeedback” equipment.

The incredibly fast and exciting development of new and simple-to-use equipment in the field of physiological assessment opens for the future a dramatic change in the way Test Centers, sport coaches, personal trainers and even individual athletes will assess clients or themselves. New and Non-Invasive methods allow for very fast, and very accurate physiological testing. The equipment is easy to use and easy to interpret.

It can be used as an assessment tool for any existing classical test methods and or it can be used as well as “Bio-Feedback” during a workout, so the client has direct information as he/she is performing his/her training in a Training/test Center or at home.

The equipment can as well be used as stand alone equipment, meaning that it works like a common Polar Heart rate monitor, where you can download the workout or the race and recall the physiological information afterward in order to assess the client in more detail.

The Camp is an EQUIPMENT INTRODUCTION camp.

You will be introduced to all the latest high tech equipment in North America, which can be used in a Private Test Center or as a coach from a Team or as a personal trainer moving from Center to Center or even in a client’s house.

You will be able to use and test the equipment in all different ways, so you can see limits and ability of the tools, and whether they are ideas and or benefits for your business to move yourself to the forefront of physiological testing.

The Camps are NOT training camps nor testing camps.

We will not test your abilities and will not give you any training plans or personal diagnosis of any of the abilities the equipment can do. To show you the practical application you can use the equipment on a bike wattage trainer, as it is the easiest way to see live the limitation and ability of the equipment.

You can perform different intensity task on your own risk to see live physiological reactions.

Camp 2 will as well go into a local big fitness center so you can test the equipment on different endurance options like upper body cycle , treadmill, bike and weight equipment.

As well you can test the equipment as a standalone mode. Go for a short jog and or bike ride or simply a hike and see, how the data’s collection will work.

All the equipment is as well build for extreme research purposes and there is an endless ability for different data collections.

We will focus on the very basic use for the person on the road and for simple applications, which are helpful and practical in the real world of coaching and testing.

Summary: It is a very basic and simple HANDS On approach on equipment you normally just read in some research articles and see short in some EXPOS , but often don’t understand, how simple the basic approach really is.

Overview of the equipment

Introduction:

1. Lactate Pro hand held lactate analyzer, safe handling and point of interests to avoid measurement mistakes.
– How to use Lactate Pro in testing but as well in the field during training
As Bio Marker

2. Koko Peak Hand held simple Spiro Meter for sport use to assess easy and fast.
– Your respiratory values: VC (6 sec) VC1 for the first second volume.
% of VC1 to VC as well as peak flow.

3. Fit Mate A small affordable VO2 test equipment from the Italian Company Cosmed.
– We will show you the different features you can use besides the VO2 max testing, and how you can use the equipment for respiratory data collection live or after a test. Information on Respiratory frequency (RF), VE as the Air volume / min. FeO2 % as the amount of O2 you breathe out. Calculation of TV (Tidal volume.) You as well will be able to play with it and we show you how different “manipulations “of respiration influences the VO2 values.

4. Spiro Tiger the new one piece generation. For respiratory endurance training.
– You will be able to do some respiratory workouts for different goal settings and we show you how the fit mate information can help you to design your client’s bag size and goal settings.

5. Physio Flow enduro We will give you an introduction into the first North American units for sport non invasive cardiac assessments.
– At the end of the camp you will be able to apply electrodes properly, run the equipment and be able to read easy the information live from the screen or download afterwards. You will be able to bike and see your own cardiac information on the screen. You will understand how Heart rate and Stroke volume work for the cardiac output. You will see ejection fractions and left ventricular ejection time. You will see how they have a direct influence on performance and hoe different intensities can influence the different parameters. You will apply the equipment to a partner and run some simple practical workouts on the wattage trainer.

6. NIRS PorteMon is the first and only portable 3 channel non invasive equipment to assess your intracellular O2 situation (O2 Hb and deoxy Hb and total Hb and TSI %).
– You will learn the easy and fast application n0on yourself and on partners and can see live the interesting reactions different ideas on a bike have on O2 situations. Once you are able to run the equipment you can do simple testing on yourself and or on your partner but no all out tests are allowed and we will keep the right to interrupt a test if we see some information’s on the equipment which are not in the average range on what is considered acceptable.

We will show you some different ideas in comparison with traditional testing and where we see this equipment can help to dramatically enhance the quality of an individual training plan for your client. Please be aware, that this equipment the latest development for sport and we our self are still in the stage of learning, so we will together for sure find new ideas and applications but as well different weakness and problems.

All the companies we work together are aware, that we try to help to improve equipment and are incredible in applying possible changes if feasible as fast and as efficient as possible.

Participants, who sign up will get over the next month more information and mails with incoming news and test examples, so you can prepare questions and options for the camp.

This is the reason why we only take 4 participants, as we will have 3 days of overload in questions, some answers and more questions and we will run the camp very individual so that everybody can get his personal questions in and answered as good as possible.

At the end of the camp we will do an open “brain storming” on how we further can change improve and progress with this different type of camps.
