November 6, 2010 (Toronto, ON) – More clouds have drifted in as the Elite Women and Junior Men’s races are now underway and they’re racing together. The women will complete 4 laps for 12.15km and Junior men 5 laps for 15.15km. The sunshine is fading…

Lap 1 – Start Lap (short)
It’s Felix Cote Bouvette (QC) Vélo Sélect-Prud’Homme-Glasshield leading the junior men with Karl Hoppner (ON) EMD Serono-Specialized CC in second and Benjamin Perry (ON) St. Catharines Cycling Club in third.

In the Elite women’s race a group of four have formed at the front including Wendy Simms (BC) Ridley-FSA, Natasha Elliott (ON) Garneau-Club Chaussures-Ogilvy Renault, Katy Curtis (AB) Team Alberta and Pepper Harlton (AB) Team Alberta/Juventus Cycling Club… Catharine Pendrel (BC) Luna Pro Team is up there as well.

Lap 2
Cote Bouvette continues to lead with Perry taking over second and Hoppner is in third.

Simms remains at the front with Harlton in second Elliott in third, Curtis in 4th… at 15s is Pendrel followed by Dyck in 6th.

Lap 3
Perry is now leading the junior men’s race with Cote Bouvette in second and Hoppner still in third.

Simms and Curtis are battling at the front with Harlton now in 3rd at 3s – she crashed – and Elliott just behind another 3s.

Lap 4
Perry continues to lead the junior men thru their 4th lap

Lap 5 Juniors – Lap 4 Women final
It’s Ontario’s Perry with a commanding lead over Cote Bouvette in second with Hoppner also from Ontario in third.

Simms is leading as the women begin their 4th and final lap followed by Curtis in second with fellow Albertan Harlton in 3rd followed by Elliott in fourth – reigning MTB champ Pendrel is in 5th and trying to catch Elliott.

Hoppner has taken over second.

Pendrel has passed Elliott and is gaining on Harlton…
