December 1, 2007 – The 2008 Giro d’Italia route was unveiled today and the 3,423.8km grand tour features four time trials. Beginning on May 10 in Palermo and ending in Milan on June 1 the organizer, RCS Sport, is calling for a clean race in 2008 and an end to the doping scandals that have plagued the sport. “I hope the 2008 Giro d’Italia will be a symbol of credibility, cleanliness and internationalism. Cycling is going through a difficult moment and needs to make epical changes,” race director Angelo Zomegnan said during the presentation of the 2008 Giro d’Italia route according to Reuters.
