October 9, 2008 – Each year Cycling BC recognizes Athletes, Coaches and Volunteers who have made a substantial contribution to the sport of Cycling. This year, Cycling BC would like members to submit their nominations in the several categories listed. All nominations must be based on performances or contributions in the 2008 calendar year.

To submit your 2008 Cycling BC award nominee fill out the nomination form, found on the Cycling BC website, and submit it to Cycling BC (by mail to Cycling BC, or by email to awards@cyclingbc.net on or before Sunday 26th, October, 2008.

Nominations Due: Sunday, October 26th
Awards Night: Saturday, November 15th

– Coach of the Year
– Commissaire of the Year
– Special Achievement Award
– Club, Team or Track of the Year
– Cyclist of the Year Awards
– Race organizer of the Year
– Volunteer of the Year

Awards Evening
The 2008 Award winners will be notified on or before October 31st and be presented with their award at the 2008 Awards Evening held on November 15th, 2008 at the BC Sports Hall of Fame. Tickets are $25 each an can be purchased from the Cycling BC office or via email at info@cyclingbc.net .

Cycling BC Hall of Fame
In 2007, Cycling BC launched a Cycling BC Hall Fame to the organization, recognizing BC athletes who have become outstanding heroes in the sport of Cycling.

In 2008 we will induct Cycling Athletes who are currently inducted into the BC Sports Hall of Fame, these include William “Torchy” Peden (1966), Brian Walton (2006), Jim Davies (1972), Lorne “Ace” Atkinson (1997), Roger Sumner (2003), Morris Robinson (2002) and Alison Sydor (2008).

Cycling BC would like to invite all members to nominate individuals in the following categories:
