2007 UCI Women’s Road World Cup Starts Friday

March 1, 2007 (Geelong, Australia) – The UCI Women’s Road World Cup will begin on Saturday in Geelong, Australia.

This year, the series will include nine events, with a new addition, the Ronde van Drenthe in the Netherlands.

All the races have been selected in accordance with criteria based on sports evaluation, organisation and media.

In terms of participation, the 2007 UCI Women’s Road World Cup season is starting off on a very good footing, since the number of registration requests from teams demonstrates the constant development of women’s cycling.

A total of 21 teams from 16 countries, with all the best riders, will be lining up at the start of the Geelong Women’s World Cup, which will be raced on a 15 km circuit to be covered eight times, with a total distance of 120 km.
