February 22, 2007 – Here’s some information regarding the upcoming 2007 Penticton Cycling Camp on from April 4-14, 2007.
Depart: April 4th, 2007
Where: The Olympic Oval South side by Outdoor Program Centre, University of Calgary
When: 12 noon arrive to load vehicles. Vehicles depart at 1:00pm sharp
Arrive: Penticton: 8pm Local time
Hotel: Sandman Inn Penticton, 939 Burnaby Ave West 250-493-7151
The Camp will include:
* A full 2 extra days of riding over the 2006 camp, for a total of 8 riding days
* Ground transportation from Calgary to Penticton & return
* Vehicle support for each riding group
* Full Meal service provided for breakfast and dinner
– NCCP certified coaches providing ride support and coaching
– Different riding groups allowing riders to ride with others of similar abilities
– Ride planning, video analysis, time trials, team tactics, daily skill sessions
– Accommodations based on 2 or 4 per room for juniors and 2 per room for adults. Kitchenettes included with some rooms
– All riders must have a helmet, proper ride gear, a safe & working road bike
– Athletes must have a 2007 Cycling Association License
– All riders are responsible for: lunches &/or ride food, and their own equipment (i.e., water bottles, tires, tubes, etc.)
– Daily grocery shuttle is provided
Fees:
– Juniors/Youths, 4 per room: $1000
– Juniors/Youths, 2 per room: $1200
– Seniors / adults: $1250
Schedule:
– 3-4 riding groups each with vehicle support and NCCP certified cycling coach
– 7:30-8am: Breakfast
– 9am: skill session
– 9:30am: depart for ride, pack food for the day, lunch on the road
– Time trial race, road sprints, hill climbs
– 5-7pm: Dinner
– 7pm: Grocery Shuttle
– 8pm: Evening Activity — karaoke, guest speaker, movies, or free time
– Approximately 1000km of riding
