2007 Pan Am Championships Track Trials Correction

May 14, 2007 (Burnaby, BC) — In our Pan Am Championships Track Trials update yesterday we incorrectly reported that Lawrence Leroux received a re-ride of the 500m distance perhaps due to his age. In fact Leroux rode the standing 500m trial only once and made the standard on his first attempt on Friday, May 11.

He did this after having met the standing 250m standard on Thursday, May 10. On that day Yannick Morin also met the 250m standard on his second attempt, while Cam Mackinnon met the 500m standard on his first attempt.

Matt Barlee and Matt Chatter also qualified in the 500m but only on their second attempts on Friday, May 11. With five qualifiers for three spots and Leroux’s time in the 250m not as fast Morin’s , he was given the opportunity to run the 500m and he posted the second fastest time on his first attempt.

We apologize to all parties concerned.
