2007 Absa Cape Epic – Stage 3 Flash

March 26, 2007 – Here are the provisional results from Stage 3 of the Cape Epic Mountain Bike race in South Africa. Today, riders started in Oudtshoorn and rode 128km to Ladismith, climbing a total of 2,425 vertical metres.

Once again, the Men’s top three teams finished the stage in the same order as the order of classification, with race leaders Roel Paulissen (Belgium) and Jakob Fuglsang (Denmark) of team Cannondale-Vredestein winning the stage in a time of 4:56.08.

In the Mixed category the story was very similar, with the top three overall crossing the finish line in the same order. Yolande Speedy (South Africa) and Paul Cordes (South Africa) of the South African team IMC/Mongoose continue to lead after winning Stage 3. Team ABSA PRO – with the Canadian connection via Jean Ann McKirdy – finished third in the stage and holds third place in the general classification.

2. Ivonne Kraft (Germany) and Nico Pfitzenmaier (Germany), Maloja-BTS Time for Travel 5:56.04
3. Geddan Ruddock (South Africa) and Jean Ann McKirdy (Canada) ABSA PRO 6:05.51
