2006 Plastiglas XC Ontario Cup Series Schedule Announced

December 7, 2005 – Here is the 2006 Plastiglas XC Ontario Cup Series Schedule:

mansfield
April 29-30 As always, the MTB O-Cup Series kicks off on the first Sunday in May. The opening Ontario Cup is the place for racers to reconnect with old acquaintances. Always highly attended, the first Ontario Cup marks the start of the season for the province’s serious racers.

Albion Hills
May 13-14 This Bolton Conservation Area is home to a Tuesday Weekly Series, two 24 hour events and 2 former Provincial Cyclo-Cross Championships. Last year’s 766 riders proved Albion Hills can handle the rigours of an O-Cup.

Hardwood Hills Canada Cup
June 3-4. After winning numerous CCA’s “Best Organized Canada Cup” award, this Canada Cup is once again a stop on the O-Cup Series . The Hardwood Hills Canada Cup is the best-attended C-Cup in the country, attracting racers from across Canada.

Buckwallow
July 8-9. The O-Cup circuit returns for its third year of Moose Mayhem at the Buckwallow Cycling Centre in Bracebridge. With camping facilities minutes away, Buckwallow offers a low-cost great weekend of racing for the entire family. Plus the trails are great too.

Elliot Lake
July 29th-30th. After last year’s success, Elliot Lake returns to the Ontario Cup schedule. This technical course offers Ontario riders a traditional mountain biking course without losing the fun factor. Along the ride you will see a magnificent view from Lookout Hill and maybe the occasional bear! As always the City of Elliot Lake caters to specifically to cyclists, offering affordable accommodation for the entire family.

Hardwood Hills
August 26-27. As with the last two years, Hardwood Hills will host two Ontario Cups. This course will offer something different (but still challenging and fun) than its sister Canada Cup course.

Provincial Championships
September 9-10. The Provincial Championships return to the Kelso Conservation Area in Milton for a second consecutive year. No word yet if the course will be as physically and mentally challenging as Kelso’s famed ’02 Provincial Championships but, like last year, it will include the famous (or infamous) Fire Climb.
