November 11, 2006 (Nanaimo, B.C.) — The Elite Women and Jr. Men’s race is underway. It was raining at the start of the race but is now clearing up.

Lap 1
Lyne Bessette (Knowlton, QC) Cyclocrossworld.com and Wendy Simms (Nanaimo, BC) Kona have the lead after lap 1 followed by Mical Dyck (Calgary, AB) Terrascape Racing/Trek at 20 sec.

Kelly Jones (North Vancouver, BC) Sugoi Factory Team and Tara Ross (Dundas, ON) Cheerwine are 10 seconds further back.

Lap 2
At the end of the second lap Lyne Bessette (Knowlton, QC) Cyclocrossworld.com and Wendy Simms (Nanaimo, BC) Kona have increased their lead over Mical Dyck (Calgary, AB) Terrascape Racing/Trek to 45 sec.

Kelly Jones (North Vancouver, BC) Sugoi Factory Team and Tara Ross (Dundas, ON) Cheerwine remain 10 seconds behind. Lisa Ludwig (Victoria, BC) Oak Bay Bikes is in 6th another 30 seconds back.

Spencer Smitheman (Beaumont, AB) Juventus is leading the Junior Men’s race with over a minute on second placed Garrett McLeod (Wolfville, NS) Annapolis Valley CC/Team Atlantic. In 3rd is David Larson (Edmonton, AB) Juventus about 10 sec. back

Lap 3
Bessette and Simms are pulling ahead with Bessette leading and Simms on her wheel. Dyck is in 3rd at 1:06. Ross and Jones are 30 sec behind with Ross ahead by 5 sec. in 4th.

No change in the Junior Men’s race Smitheman is leading with McLeod in second and Larson in 3rd.
