November 11, 2006 (Nanaimo, B.C.) — The Elite Men’s race has just started and the sun is shining”¦ the men will do 7 laps of the 2.8 km course.

Lap 1
At the end of the first lap Greg Reain (Ottawa, ON) Stevens Racing has established a 5-second lead over Geoff Kabush (Victoria, BC) Maxxis.

Behind Kabush 5 seconds back is the pack lead by Andrew Pinfold (North Vancouver, BC) Symmetrics Cycling, Ryan Hopping (Fort McMurray, AB) Redbike, Osmond Bakker (Stittsville, ON) The Cyclery, Mathew Hewitt (Victoria, BC) Oak Bay Bicycles, Mathieu Toulouse (Montreal, QC) Team Maxxis Cyclocross, Michael Garrigan (Oro Station, ON) HB Cycling Club”¦

Lap 2
Reain is still leading Kabush by 5 seconds, Toulouse is in third at 3 sec. behind Kabush followed Pinfold, Hopping and the pack at 5 more seconds.

Lap 3
At the end of lap 3 Reain has increased his lead over Kabush to about 10 seconds. Toulouse is in third trailing by 15 sec. Another 30 seconds behind him are Pinfold, Garrigan and Hopping. Kris Sneddon (Kona) is another 5 sec. back.

Lap 4
Greg Reain is maintaining his 10-sec lead over Kabush at the end of lap 4. Toulouse in third has dropped slightly to 20 seconds. Garrigan is in fourth another 40 seconds back followed by Sneddon at another 5 seconds. Hopping is in 6th at 5 more seconds with the pack chasing…

Lap 5
The gaps are opening… Rein has 12 seconds on Kabush in second. Toulouse is now at 45 sec in 3rd with Garrigan following in 4th at another 30 sec. Kris Sneddon is 5 sec. back in 5th with Hopping in 6th at another 5 sec. and Pinfold is in 7th trailing by another 5 sec.

Lap 6
At the end of lap 6 heading into the final lap Rein has 10 seconds on Kabush in second. Back in 3rd Toulouse is now at 1:10.

At 30 more seconds Sneddon has overtaken 4th with Garrigan on his wheel in 5th. Hopping is 30 seconds back in 6th with Pinfold in 7th.

In 8th is Hewitt with Andreas Hestler (Rocky Mountain/Bus. Objects) in 9th.
