February 5, 2004 – The 2005 World Masters Games are coming to Edmonton. The cycling venues will be taking place on the 1987 Canada Cup course, a hilly ride through the river valley. The track races will take place at the site of the 1978 Commonwealth Games – it has been resurfaced since then. Finally, cross-country mountain biking will take place within the city itself on some excellent, hilly river valley single-track.
For those wanting to register, early bird registration (with an entry-fee of $160 per person) stays open until July 22, 2004. After that, it will cost $185 per person. Sports updates are available via the WMG website at www.2005worldmasters.com.
