2005 TransRockies Challenge Alberta Info Nights

April 26, 2005 – There are just over three months to go before the start of the 2005 TransRockies Challenge. The 175 available team spots are rapidly filling up, course improvements are being finalized and all everything is on track to make the 4th edition of the Challenge the best ever.

The TransRockies Challenge team is inviting future, potential and past participants to join them for the Alberta Information and Video nights. Though the week-long race produces a lifetime’s worth of stories, the Info Nights will try to compress it all into a couple of hours’ worth of video, discussion, and question and answer time. Along with the video and refreshments, past participants will be on hand to share their impressions, tips and memories from the World’s toughest bike race.

The 2005 edition of the TransRockies Challenge will take place August 7-13. Starting in Fernie, BC, teams of two racers will tackle the 600 km route to the finish in Canmore, AB. The spectacular ride includes over 12,000 metres of climbing and three crossings of the Continental Divide on some of the best riding the Rocky Mountains have to offer. Racers are fully supported with feed stations on course, breakfast and dinner and accommodations from tents to RVs, depending on the race package.

The event details are as follows:
Calgary — Monday, May 2nd (7 PM). The Bike Shop — 801 11th Ave SW.
Canmore — Tuesday, May 3rd (7 PM). The Drake Pub — 909 Railway Ave.
Edmonton — Wednesday, May 4th (7 PM). Molson House — 10449 121 Street.
