December 29, 2004 – It is possible that the 2005 Tour of Langkawi, which takes place in Malaysia from January 28 to February 5, will be cancelled next year due to the tsunami that occurred last Sunday in the Indian Ocean. Cyclismag in France has suggested the race be abandoned because of the disaster which has killed more than 100,000 people in southeast Asia.
