December 16, 2004 “” The Park City Cycling Festival presented by USA Cycling will return in 2005 to host USCF national championship road cycling events June 20-July 1. After a successful inaugural event that boasted 1,866 competitors and roughly 2,400 race entries, the 2005 edition will expand to include elite men’s and women’s road race and time trial events.

In total, 125 national championship jerseys will be awarded to junior, U23, master and elite riders from across the United States.

“We’re thrilled to be returning to such a hospitable and enthusiastic environment,” said Gerard Bisceglia, USA Cycling’s chief executive officer. Park City proved to be an ideal venue in 2004 for competitors and non-competitors alike thanks to its challenging terrain and reputation as a premier vacation destination.”

In a town that has been the home of the U.S. Ski Team since 1974 and is famous for hosting the 2002 Winter Olympics and numerous world cup events, Park City is a popular destination for adventure seekers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Finally, our temperate mountain climate and varied terrain offers tremendous recreational opportunities.”

Again co-organized by Blue Wolf Events and Team Big Bear, the Park City Cycling Festival presented by USA Cycling will be preceded by a world-class caliber mountain bike event. The fourth round of the 2005 NORBA National Mountain Bike Series will be held at nearby Deer Valley Resort June 17-19 giving cycling enthusiasts an opportunity to test their skills on the fat tire circuit.
