November 27, 2003 – The 2005 Canada Summer Games will be held in Regina, Saskatchewan from August 6th to 20th. Start planning now to help keep BC's riders at the top the medal standings!

Opportunities for involvement in the Games include:

Athletes Competitors: 6 Male, 6 Female Events include Individual Time Trial (ITT), Criterium, Road Race and Cross Country. Team BC members will compete in all four events. Team BC members must hold a CCA licenses. Male cyclists must be under 20 years of age and at least 16 years of age as of Dec. 31, 2004 Female cyclists must be under 22 years of age and at least 16 years of age as of Dec. 31, 2004

Coaches / Managers Coaches and Managers are invited to apply for positions representing Team BC at the 2005 Canada Summer Games. Cycling is entitled to have two coaches. One of the coaches must be a certified road coach; one must be a certified mountain bike coach. One of the coaches must be male and one must be female. Coaches must be a minimum of Level 3 certified by March 2005. The Canada Games Society provides transportation to and from the Games.

Accommodations, food and local transport are all included.

Requirements Good management and personal relationship skills.  Ability to handle budget and finances.  Knowledge of rules and regulations of competitive cycling by the summer of 2005.  Due to the predominance and technical nature of the three road events, completion of a road commissaire course would be useful.
