2004 Detroit Track Season

April 23, 2004 – The day starts with Track 101 from 10:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m. This is a learn-to-ride
program designed to teach new riders how to ride track, and the rules of track riding. The session is set at the pace suitable for each rider and is a great course to get acquainted to track riding. The course is broken into two parts: technical aspects, and on-track sessions.
 
This is not a learn-to-race program, it is only a learn-to-ride session You need to bring the following: pedals, shoes, helmet and riding
gear. All bikes are provided. Cost for the four-hour session is $10.00.
The track will be open for training from 2:00-3:00 p.m.
The Michael R Rabe Memorial Racing Program begins at 3:00 p.m. with mass-start
races for all abilities, riders are in A, B, C ability groups. Racing
continues until about 6:00 p.m. Each division will have the chance to race in
three to five different events. (Michael R was hit by a car and killed while training
one year ago).
This is a great warm-up for the Springbank race the next day.
