2004 Bear Mountain Challenge

June 3, 2004 – June is here, and that means Bear Mountain Challenge ’04 is
ready to go. The eighth annual event is stop number two on the SISU BC Cup
calendar and promises to be more fun than ever. “There is a great vibe at
the races right know that seems to have been missing over the past few
years”, reports Cycling BC’s Gary Jackson.

The crew have been working hard to ensure this remains the most popular
downhill race in Canada, and the most fun. With five new jumps added, this
track is top to bottom excitement, and super fast. Bear Mountain is so
special because the fastest racers in Canada ride on exactly the same course
as racers competing in their first event. With past winners like Andrew
Shandro and Dustin Adams, you can be sure that every fast pro has this event
checked off as a must do.

The cross-country event is “old school” in every way. The course is more
like a really fun day ride than anything else. The lush single track of
Mission makes for some of the most technical riding on the SISU BC Cup
circuit.

“We try to put on an event that is for the racers. It ‘s all about good
times and big smiles at Bear” says Cory Adsit, President of the Bear
Mountain Challenge.
