April 2, 2004 – The Provincial BMX Team, competing at Western Canada Cup #3 and #4 in Ridge Meadows, BC, will consist of sixteen athletes, 15 of whom will be selected according to placing earned at the Provincial BMX Championships, April 3 in Lethbridge:

2. 1st Place Female, 14 yrs
3. 1st Place Male, 15 yrs
4. 1st Place Female, 15 yrs
5. 1st Place Male, 16 yrs
6. 1st Place Female, 16 yrs
7. 1st Place Junior Male
8. 1st Place Junior Female
9. 2nd Place Male, 14 yrs
10. 2nd Place Female, 14 yrs
11. 2nd Place Male, 15 yrs
12. 2nd Place Female, 15 yrs
13. 2nd Place Male, 16 yrs
14. 2nd Place Female, 16 yrs
15. 2nd Place Junior Male
16. Automatic Position — Samantha Cools

If a selected rider refuses his or her position on the Provincial Team, the BMX Committee may, at their discretion, choose to replace that rider; in the case that another rider is selected, the position will become a “Committee Selection.” To be eligible for selection, athletes must be licensed members of the Alberta Bicycle Association, and carry the designation Canadian on their license (some exceptions may apply).

Most projects are not entirely funded by the Alberta Bicycle Association; selected athletes are required to contribute a portion of the costs. Athletes are required to sign the Team Alberta Athlete Agreement prior to taking part in a project. Athletes are also required to wear the Provincial Team uniform while representing Team Alberta. Riders will be provided one Team Alberta jersey for each project to which they are selected.
