Giro is an exhilarating and challenging bike route that will take cyclists through the countryside of Vaughan, the hills of Caledon and other surrounding picturesque areas. Experience Italian-themed rest stops, inspired by the regions of the 100th annual Giro d’Italia, along the way. With over 260 riders expected to participate in this year’s event, Giro 2017 will play a significant role in raising funds required to ensure that Villa Charities can continue to provide its unique brand of high-quality, culturally sensitive programs and services for the community.
Giro 2017– Villa Charities Giro takes place on May 28, 2017
– This unique, fast-paced cycling event will start and finish at Eagles Nest Golf Club in Maple, ON
– The Grand Marshall will officially start the ride at 8:00am
– Giro cyclists’ endurance and skills will be put to the test as they cycle the full route, GranFondo (100km), or the shorter route, MediaFondo (60km)
– As a nod to the Giro d’Italia tradition, the Maglia Rosa (pink jersey) will be presented to the top Giro 2017 fundraiser
– Over 260 cyclists will participate in the 2017 ride
– Rest stops along the route will provide snacks and water to ensure the cyclists are safe and healthy
