July 29, 2006 – Over 75 women hit the streets of Vancouver on Thursday, June 20th to ride their bikes and share their passion of cycling!

The ride started out at Dizzy Cycles where we were introduced to some of North America’s top professional female road and XC cyclists, and we were lead out by Vancouver’s Dizzy Chicks and the International Velo Bella’s around Spanish Banks and UBC. Local female racers, local club members and enthusiast cyclists shared the road and stories…and were very excited to have the chance to ride with so many hero’s !

The atmosphere was relaxed and fun, and the visiting riders from out of province and country were amazed with the views of Vancouver and Pacific Ocean. Returning to Dizzy Cycles, we ate some great food, gave away some great prizing, and had some great socializing time! The pro’s then each told very entertaining stories about how they started cycling, what it’s like traveling the world with a team and bike. Gina Grain topped it off with hilarious antics of how to communicate in a peloton…!
