February 25, 2009 (Guelph, ON) – Winterborne Bicycle Institute (WBI) announces an additional early-season offering of their premier “Pro Bike Mechanics” course. This will help to meet demand reflected in growing wait lists for the course. The 11-day hands-on immersion course will be run April 20 to May 1 at the fully-tooled shop/classroom in Guelph, Ontario.

The continuing shortage of trained bicycle mechanics, coupled with declining fortunes in the manufacturing industry, is causing an increase in the number of mechanically-skilled adults seeking retraining to enter the bicycle industry as mechanics.

WBI, established in 2006, is Canada’s only college-affiliated trade school for bicycle mechanics. WBI is an off-campus trade school partner of Conestoga College, and is accredited by Shimano Canada.
