Why Canada Needs a Velodrome in Hamilton

November 5, 2009 (Hamilton, ON) – The National Cycling Centre Hamilton (NCCH) developed a video to advocate for the construction of a full-size indoor velodrome in Hamilton. The video features fixtures in Canadian cycling history, like Steve Bauer, who emphasize the need for such a track in order for Canada to rise in the world cycling ranks. Check out the video.

NCCH is a not-for-profit organization created in the City of Hamilton as a result of the legacy of the 2003 UCI World Road Cycling Championships.

The NCCH is a regional development and high performance centre for the sport of cycling in the Province of Ontario and provides leadership and services to the competitive cycling community.

The NCCH is formally partnered with the Canadian Cycling Association, the Ontario Cycling Association, the City of Hamilton, and McMaster University to promote and support the sport of cycling and assist in the development of high performance athletes and coaches in the Province of Ontario. The NCCH will also develop further partnerships with organizations and private sector interests where mutual interests coincide.

The NCCH will work with its stakeholders and other interested parties to foster a positive and collaborative culture and community to benefit the sport of cycling.
