WADA and UCI Meet in Switzerland

April 16, 2006 – According to Today Online, WADA boss Dick Pound had a “constructive and helpful” meeting with UCI officials and UCI president Pat McQuaid at the UCI headquarters in Aigle, Switzerland, this week. Pound has been quite vociferous regarding his concerns over the UCI’s measures to counter drugs in cycling and has even gone so far as to criticize Lance Armstrong himself.

According to the UCI, the meeting involved making “historical and current” data relating to anti-doping measures available to Pound. No more information was given.

Pound has often complained that the UCI is not doing enough to battle doping, much to the angst of the UCI and professional cyclists.
