Vuelta Banco Popular a Costa Rica Stage 7 Results and Photos

December 21, 2016  (Grecia, Costa Rica) – The seventh stage of the Velta Banco Popular a Costa Rica took riders from Alajuela to Grecia. The 179km stage was won Juan Carlos Rojas of the Frijoles Los Tierniticos-Arroz Halcon-Specialized team. Rojas finished with teammate Cesar Rojas, while Yewinson Varela finished third, making it a podium sweep for Frijoles Los Tierniticos. Alejandro Padilla of the Canadian Quebexico Team finished 54th at 35:05 back. Canucks Jean Michel Lachance and Michel Jean crossed the line in 59th and 60th respectively at 37:15 behind winner Rojas.

Cesar Rojas leads the General Classification with a 45 second advantage over team mates Juan Carlos Rojas. Lachance is the top Canadian in 51st. Stage 8 will see riders race the 126km route from Ins San Jose to San Isidro de El General. The stage climbs for nearly 80km before a long 40km descent to the finish.
