Volunteer Opportunity – Manager for MTB Pan Am Championships

February 6, 2009 – The CCA is seeking a volunteer manager to lead the 2009 MTB Pan Am Championships. The Canadian Cycling Association (CCA) is the recognized authority by the UCI (Union Cycliste International) on all aspects of cycling in Canada, including BMX, Cyclo-Cross, Mountain Bike, Para-Cycling, Road and Track.

Task Description:
The manager is responsible for leading the 2009 National Team at the MTB Pan Am Championships in Santiago, Chilie from March 17th to March 24th with administrative support from the national office. The CCA will cover the cost of for the Manager’s travel, accommodation and per diem. There will be no remuneration.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience and knowledge in MTB and the Canadian sport system at both the domestic and international levels. The successful candidate will have the ability to make recommendations regarding all aspects of logistics and to manage a team of espoir/U23 and senior elite athletes during the Pan AM championships. Strong consultative, facilitation and decision-making skills are required. The ability to communicate in both official languages is a key asset.
