March 26, 2016 (Spain) – Davide Cimolai (Ita) Lampre – Merida grabbed the win on Stage 6 from Sant Joan Despí to Vilanova i la Geltrú, 197.2km, taking the bunch sprint over Nikias Arndt (Ger) Team Giant-Alpecin in second and Tosh Van Der Sande (Bel) Lotto Soudal in third. Near the finish the peloton caught Cameron Meyer (Aus) Dimension Data, the last rider of an early break, which set up the final sprint for Cimolai’s victory. Canada’s Michael Woods (Cannondale Pro Cycling Team) finished with the same time as the winner and holds steady at 18th overall.
