September 23, 2005 – One of the world’s most beautiful cycling races was arranged for the first time through the fjordland of western Norway this summer. Only sections of each stage are being timed and there were a number of enthusiasts riding all the way in the non-timed stages. This creates a great athmospere that can only be improved by having an wider range of nationalities with us.
To temp you further, we will refund you 1000 Norwegian Crowns to each of the first two Canadian participants that sign up. Here are the details of the DBS Viking Tour in Norway.
-Six days amateur stage race.
-Open to all: Enthusiasts, touring cyclists and those seeking to compete with former TdF-riders.
– The cities visisted include: Geiranger, Trollstigen, Jotunheimen, Peak Road, Sognefjorden, Vikafjell, Eagles Road, Dalsnibba…
600 km and 11000 m. accumulated ascent from Aurland (Sogn og Fjordane) to Ã…ndalsnes (MÃ¸re og Romsdal).
– The race takes place from July 23-28, 2006.
We would especially like to mention the “Ladies Class” which is non-timed and for women only.
Sleepover and rest for tired legs are available in Aurland, Ã˜vre Ã…rdal, Lom, Geiranger og Ã…ndalsnes.
The organizer will transport your luggage and provides feeding stations, so you can focus on the mountain passes, the fjords, waterfalls, glaciers, lakes…
