A day of bicycle battlegames and buffoonery including jousting, derbies,
blindfold races and a game of afghan buzkashi. The key to the city of East
Vancouver is once again up for grabs, currently held by the Shawn of
Bellingham. Armour and silliness encouraged. Bring duct tape. Helpers
welcome!

A celebration of bike arts & culture

Presented by Pedal, Pedalplay, our Community Bikes & Blim

The day will feature all of pedal’s projects and creations: pedaling zoo,
pedal powered sound, bicycle blender smoothies, free bike checks by OCB
staff, bike art station, advocacy info. Performaces by the Sprockettes
(Portland, OR), Vancouver’s b:c:clettes and Brakes and music by Blackberry
Wood and Meaghan Rose. Come play!

2 rooms 5 performance troupes, 5 Djs all your friends. Performances by Velo-Vixens, Brakes, The b:c:clettes, and the Sprockettes of
Portland start our evening. Elemental circus of fire led by the flygirl of
the apocalypse. Three stages, two rooms of sound with djs, Thomas
Cunningham, Timothy Wisdom, xben, Captain Crunk and the Pirate Booty Crew
and Robin Bank$. Roving performers and spontaneous acts of random party
madness. Visual environment by the bonnie and clyde experiment. Art
installations by Pedal Play, beverages available for grownups, entry by
donation, a fund raiser for pedal play. $10-20. No one turned away for lack
of funds. (or volunteer) Be generous at the door!!!


TEAM H2V
TEAM H2V is a group of 5 Lower Mainland riders who left Halifax Friday,
September 14. They are riding, relay style, non-stop to raise awareness
and funds for Juvenile Diabetes. They are scheduled to arrive in Vancouver
on Saturday, September 22 in English Bay, 9 days later! They are looking
for people to ride with them as they arrive in the Lower Mainland. Please

will give details of the route as they get nearer.

Welcome Al Gore to Vancouver and demand action on climate change. Send a
strong message to Premier Campbell that Gateway is the wrong way. Rail and
buses, not highways. Bring your signs and banners for a rally outside the
Bayshore. Al Gore will be inside the Bayshore giving his Inconvenient Truth
presentation. If you can’t afford the $500 tickets, please join us for the
rally outside, just to the east of the Bayshore. Premier Campbell will be
introducing Mr. Gore. The Gateway program will increase traffic throughout
the region thus increasing pollution and greenhouse gas emissions by at
least 176,000,000 kg per year!
