1991… a new era begins
“If we go back 25 years,” says Patrice Drouin, president of event producer Gestev, “it was in June 1991 that Chantal Lachance and I managed to bring the very first stop on the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) circuit to Mont-Sainte-Anne. It’s the only host site on the circuit to have managed to host UCI event during that many years, it’s historic. Now 25 years later, our heads full of memories, we’re still just as proud to welcome the event to our part of the world and to stop and think just how much the sport has grown!” Thousands of athletes from all over the world have raced down Mont-Sainte-Anne and have been crowned champions over the years. Unforgettable moments from 25 wonderful years will be looked back on at the 2015 edition, which is gearing up to host close to 1,000 amateur and professional athletes from 30 countries to celebrate the sport in Québec.

Thrills & spills
As well as the weekend World Cups, Vélirium has something for everyone, with Raid Vélo Mag presented by Power Run Energy and featuring over 500 amateur cyclists tackling a 33, 63, or 81 km course on Saturday, August 1st. The traditional Véli-Kidz children’s race will be back on the morning of Sunday, August 2nd, in the Family Zone. And there will also be fun to be had at Epic Pumptrack, in the Exhibitors’ Village, at Duel de la Côte, and of course at the Lounge Tremblay parties at the foot of the slopes. Regarding the parties, the full program will be launched very soon.
