October 19, 2015 (North Vancouver, BC) – The sixth round of the Vancouver Cyclocross Coalition Series, held at Mahon Park in North Vancouver, BC on Sunday, featured a surprise visit by Cyclocross royalty – multiple World Cup winner Katerina Nash (Luna Pro Team). Unsurprisingly, Nash used her fantastic skills and punchy power to take the elite women’s win over second place, Sandra Walter (Liv Cycling Canada) on a very techy, turny course.
One week before the big Canadian Championships showdown in Winnipeg, CX specialist Craig Richey (Garneau Red Truck Racing) powered away from the rest of the elite men’s field to take the victory, despite some tough competition from speedster Geoff Kabush (Scott-3 Racing).
Also spotted on course were MTB legends Andreas Hestler in the Master Men’s race and Alison Sydor, who coaching young riders involved in the successful DEVO program. Plus, those with sharp eyes would have noticed a cameo by fellow former MTB World Cupper and Olympian Lesley Tomlinson. All in all, the event attracted one of the highest racer turnouts of the season thus far in all categories.
