USA Cycling NRC Calendar Standings

Aug. 8, 2006 — Tina Pic (Dahlonega, Ga./Colavita Cooking Light) and Floyd Landis (Murrieta, Calif.) lead the USA Cycling National Racing Calendar standings after 35 events on the 43-race calendar.

Pic’s win at Saturday’s Bank of America Invitational Criterium in Charlotte, N.C. moved her back into first place in the standings with 2106 points. Pic won the 23-mile women’s criterium when she out-kicked Laura Van Gilder (Pocono Pines, Calif./Team Lipton) for the win.

Kristin Armstrong (Boise, Idaho/Team Lipton), last week’s NRC leader who also won the International Tour de “˜Toona, slipped down to second place with 1897 points. Team Lipton continues to lead the women’s standings this week with 4477 points.

Landis once again holds onto the lead in the men’s category with his wins in the Amgen Tour of California and the Ford Tour de Georgia, giving him 1270 points. Though Landis did not participate in the International Tour de “˜Toona or the Bank of America Invitational Criterium, his amassed points are still strong enough to keep him in the top position. For the third week in a row, Health Net’s Nathan O’Neill (AUS) remains in second place with 1180 points.

The men’s team standings remain unchanged from last week, with Health Net holding on to a commanding lead with 4891 points.

The USA Cycling National Racing Calendar continues Sunday with the Manhattan Beach Grand Prix in Manhattan Beach, Calif.
