May 01, 2015 – The USA Crits Speedweek is on and the racing has been fast and exciting. Things kicked off with grid qualifiers on April 24, which Canada’s Ed Veal (Real Deal/Gears Racing p/b Wasp Cam) won in a time of 7:30. The racing began in earnest with the first round on April 25, the Athens Twilight Criterium. Tina Pic (Pepper Palace Pro Cycling p/b The Happy Tooth) won the women’s race and Canada’ Jamie Gilgen (Rise Racing p/b Cyclepath Woodbridge) was 7th while Daniel Holloway (USA) Altovelo-SeaSucker took the men’s race victory with fellow Canuck Ryan Aitcheson (Astellas Cycling Team) in 55h.

The next round, the Historic Roswell Criterium, saw Lauretta Hanson (Fearless Femme p/b Haute Wheels) take first place in the women’s competition, while Hector F. Aguilar (Southern Crescent Cycling) snapped up the “W” in the men’s race and Canada’s Veal raced to a stunning second place. Aitcheson was 5th again and Gilgen 9th.

Hanson made it two-for-two in round three of the women’s contest and Holloway was back at the top of the standings in the Park Circle Criterium in North Charleston, South Carolina. Canada’s Gilgen finished sixth in the women’s race.
