UCI ProTour: Two New Teams Added

August 12, 2004 – The Licenses Commission of the International Cycling Union, responsible, notably, for attributing licenses to teams and organizers of the UCI ProTour, met in Bern on 12th August 2004 for the second time. This Commission was created within the frame of the road cycling reform which will come into force on 1st January 2005.At this meeting, the Commission retained the following candidatures:

1. Riis Cycling A/S (CSC)
2. GM Bikes SA (Saunier Duval-Prodir)

Taking into account that these teams had to meet the requirements imposed
for the period running until November this year (bank guarantee, riders
list, etc.), and that actual conditions will remain unchanged until that
date, the Commission will confirm decisions taken by attributing the teams
a UCI ProTour license.

The UCI reminds that the Licenses Commission had already retained 11
candidatures at the end of its first meeting on June 30th, 2004.
