UCI MTB Worlds Elite Women’s XC Full Results – Prevot Takes Historic Win, Pendrel Strong 5th, Batty 7th

September 05, 2015 (Vallnord, Andorra) – Pauline Ferrand Prevot (France) took a historic victory as she captured the 25.2km Elite Women’s XCO title, 6 laps, at the 2015 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Andorra becoming the first rider to win the Road Worlds and CX Worlds titles as well in the same year.

Irina Kalentyeva (Russian Federation) battled from behind to claim the silver as Yana Belomoina (Ukraine) took a hard-fought bronze. Canada’s Catharine Pendrel, the defending champ, had a good start and an early lead but slipped back to finish a strong 5th in a sprint to the line with Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjaa (Norway). Fellow Canuck Emily Batty finished a solid 7th.
