September 05, 2015 (Vallnord, Andorra) – Nino Schurter (Switzerland) was unstoppable again as the Elite Men’s XCO 6-lap, 25.2km race came down to a battle with defending champ Julien Absalon (France) who could not respond when Schurter attacked near the end and opened up a gap. Ondrej Cink (Czech Republic) took home the bronze as he staved off the challenge from Manuel Fumic (Germany). Canada’s Raphael Gagne had a strong start and raced to as high as 10th but faded on the last lap to finish a solid career-best 18th to cap off a superb season.
