June 21, 2008 (Val di Sole, Italy) – Sunny skies and hot temperatures greeted the world’s best downhillers as they took to the course early this afternoon for the 2008 UCI MTB World DH Championships. The Junior women were first on course, and the win went to Anais Pugot as France swept the podium with Myriam Nicole in second and Mélanie Pugin was 3rd. Miranda Miller of Canada finished a very respectable 4th place.

The junior men followed and Brit Josh Bryceland decimated the field, winding up in 7.51 seconds of countryman Sam Dale. For Canada, Simon Garstin was 16th, Alex Prochazka was 19th and Trenton Zoobkoff finished in 29th. We caught up with Prochazka in the finish area. “My run was good, I had fun. It was about as clean as a race run can get”.
