April 23, 2016 (Cairns, Australia) – Catharine Pendrel (Can) Luna Pro Team claimed her first podium of the World Cup season at the UCI MTB World Cup XC finishing 4th in the Elite Women’s 26.5km race in Cairns as Annika Langvad (Den) Specialized Racing took the win. Emily Batty (Can) Trek Factory Racing XC raced to a strong 7th. In the U23 Women’s 21km race Catherine Fleury (Can) was a stellar career-best 2nd with Frederique Trudel 6th as Kate Courtney (USA) Specialized Racing took the win.
