July 08, 2017 (Lenzerheide, SUI) – Canada’s Finnley Iles (Specialized Gravity powered by SRAM) took home yet another victory in the Junior Men’s downhill final at UCI MTB World Cup DH #5 in Lenzerheide while Vaea Verbeeck claimed 7th in the Elite Women’s field, her best result this year. Myriam Nicole (Fra) Commencal / Vallnord took the win over Rachel Atherton (Gbr) Trek Factory Racing DH. Mark Wallace (Canyon Factory Racing DH) raced to a 17th-place finish in the Elite Men’s final won by Greg Minnaar (RSA) Santa Cruz Syndicate. A fateful flat took Aaron Gwin (USA) YT Mob, the final rider, out of the running yet the American was leading at the time and through the toughest parts of the course.
