May 16, 2009 (Vallnord, Andorra) – Canada’s Steve Smith (MS Evil Racing) finished 7th in men’s DH qualifications as Samuel Hill (Aus) Monster Energy/Specialized/Mad Cat lead the men while Miranda Miller lead the Canadian women in 18th as Sabrina Jonnier (Fra) Team Maxxis-Rocky Mountain Bicycles topped the women’s field. Gatto in 20th said she had a terrible run and Buchar in 21st is still suffering the after effects of her recent bout with the flu.
