UCI Management Committee Meeting

July 7, 2006 – The UCI’s Management Committee met today and yesterday in Lausanne for its traditional summer session, which was opened by an intervention of Mr. Jacques Rogge, President of the IOC.

During its two days of deliberations, the Management Committee went through all the development plans of all its cycling disciplines, presented in four-year plans format.

Amongst all adopted decisions, the following World Championships were awarded:

-Masters MTB 2007- 2009: PRA LOUP (FRA)
-MTB / Trials 2008 : VAL DI SOLE (ITA)
-Cyclo-Cross 2009: HOOGERHEIDE (NED)
-Track 2009: PRUSZKOW (POL)

Seven events of the UCI’s 2007 Women’s Road World Cup were also retained by the Management Committee:

-Womens World Cup – Geelong AUS
-Ronde van Vlaanderen / Tour des Flandres BEL
-Ronde van Drenthe NED
-La Flèche Wallonne BEL
-Berner-Rundfahrt / Tour de Berne SUI
-La Coupe du Monde Cycliste Féminine de Montréal CAN
-GP de Plouay FRA
-Rund um die Nürnberger Altstadt GER

The Management Committee also approved the proposal from the Road Commission aiming at creating a Nations’ Cup for the Under-23 category, which would unroll on 7-8 events (by stage and in line), of which’s selection would be based on organisation and participation capacity.

UCI Management Committee meeting

January 28, 2005 – The UCI Management Committee met today in St.Wendel (GER) where the UCI Cyclo-cross 2005 will be held tomorrow and Sunday.

During the meeting, the Management Committee accepted the modification to the regulations concerning the composition of the Professional Cycling Council. By this decision the presidents of the three associations represented by this organism (AIGCP, AIOCC, CPA) will not be automatically members of the PCC.

The Management Committee was also informed on the evolution of the negotiations currently being held between ASO, RCS and UNIPUBLIC, concerning the definition of adhesion conditions for these organizers to the UCI ProTour for the 2005 season.

The Management Committee then approved the Mountain Bike reform which will come into force in 2006 and which foresees notably the restructuring of the UCI MTB World Cup, on the basis of 4 series of different format (Olympic Cross-country, Marathon Cross-country, Individual Descent, 4X), with a maximum of 10 events per format. During the UCI MTB World Championships, the Women U23 category will be introduced in the Olympic Cross-country.

The following World Championships were awarded today in St.Wendel by the UCI Management Committee

Juniors Track-Road 2006 : Gand-Spa Francorchamps (BEL) Indoor cycling 2007 : Winterthur (SUI).

The Management Committee approved the Cyclo-cross calendars for the 2005-2006 season (with 11 events of the UCI World Cup) and the UCI 2005 Trial World Cup. (Madrid/ESP 7-8 May, Graz/AUT 9-10 July, Lausanne/SUI 10-11September 2005).
