June 19, 2009 – The Management Committee of the International Cycling Union (UCI) met on 18 and 19 June at the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Lausanne, Switzerland. At the start of the meeting, IOC President Jacques Rogge greeted the members on behalf of the Olympic Movement, and emphasized the excellent relationship between the IOC and the UCI.

In his closing remarks, the IOC President noted: “As a doctor I would also like to express my full support for the UCI’s efforts in the fight against doping: the work you have done to complete the biological passport project has been truly remarkable. I hope the introduction of this new tool proves to be a great success for cycling and for sport in general.”
The Management Committee then approved the award of the UCI Juniors Track World Championships to Pruszkow (Poland) for 2011 and to Invercargill (New Zealand) for 2012.
