UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships U23 Men – Van Aert Wins Decisive Gold, Canada’s Van Den Ham 40th

February 02, 2014 (Hoogerheide, Belgium) – Wout Van Aert delivered another gold for Belgium with a decisive victory in the U23 Men’s race at the 2014 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships soloing in 50s ahead of teammate Michael Vanthourenhout with race-favourite, Mathieu Van Der Poel of the Netherlands, in third.

Van Aert escaped on the first lap and it was game over for the challengers as he extended his lead each successive lap to win the title. The top Canadian was Michael Van Den Ham in 40th followed by Connor Wilson in 54th.
