Trois-Rivières Québec Cancelled

August 2, 2005 – Some disappointing news for women’s cycling today: the inaugural Trois-Rivières Québec race has been cancelled due to lack of participants. Perhaps due to some big money criteriums in the US, perhaps due to the upcoming Canada Summer Games, the organizer has only received 11 entries and has decided to pull the plug on the women’s version of one of Canada’s oldest road classics. In previous years, some of Canada’s top roadies like Lyne Bessette or Katy St. Laurent would ride the event with the men halfway, and undoubtedly were looking forward to having their “own” race for the first time.
