August 12, 2007 (Panorama Mountain Village, BC) — The 2007 TransRockies Challenge kicks off today as 300 teams tackle the 6th annual epic mountain bike adventure through the Kootenay Rockies over the next seven days covering 600 kms and 12,000 metres of elevation — August 12-19.

Team Pedal-Kona, Paul Newitt and Dean Irvine, two local veteran Vancouver mtb riders, are on the start line and will be providing daily updates at the end of each stage to bring readers the inside scoop at pedalmag.com from this challenging adventure race.
