August 29, 2005 – Alex Petacchi (Fassa Bortolo) has taken today’s stage of the Vuelta. It was another very hot day where most breakaways were thwarted due to the weather. Ultimately, the Fassa boys set Petacchi up for a great win over T-Mobile’s Erik Zabel.
