Tour for Kids Update

August 1, 2005 – Courtesy of Canada’s only stage winner in Le Tour de France will be at the starting line of Tour For Kids. Steve Bauer is taking time away from his famous cycling tour business to voice his encouragement as we all set out to Ride Somewhere Meaningful. Not only has Steve Bauer offered up his time, he has offered a TOUR PACKAGE from Steve Bauer Bike Tours, as the award for the top fundraiser for this years event! And get this, Paul Devries from Energy Savings Corp. has matched Steve’s offer and is offering the same award to the individual with the Most Number of Individual Pledges for this years tour.

There are pace and distance options for every ability of cyclist so bring your neighbours, training partners and friends from the gym.

What to bring?

Tour For Kids supplies just about everything except your clothes and camping gear. Each day enjoy three nutritious meals with ample power snacks available at rest stops along the route. Mechanical support, emergency assistance, maps and escorts are all provided to allow you to enjoy a carefree cycling adventure.

Meals

Menus are carefully created to deliver proper nutrition. Water is provided for mixing whatever recovery drink riders choose to bring along. Everything required at meal time is supplied including dishes, utensils, cups, etc.

Breakfast items include eggs, cereal, drinks and bagels among other things. Lunch includes but is not limited too sandwhich buffet, drinks, desserts and fruits. Dinner includes Salads, Vegetables and fruits, 3 hot and nutritious meals and a variety of desserts and drinks.

Camping

Camp gear such as tents, mattresses, sleeping bags, flashlights, etc., are your responsibility as are all personal items such as towels and clothing. Ground sheets are also recommended.

Super Sunday

Also remember Super Sunday at Canada’s Wonderland. All Tour For Kids riders receive free admission to Wonderland and the private concert by the Barenaked Ladies! Share the day with friends and families by ordering all day park tickets and concert passes for the low price of just $50 (plus tax).
