September 25, 2008 — The West of Quebec Wheelers are all set for this year’s edition of our fall Tour des Ponts event on Saturday, October 4. There are a few changes to this year’s event. The start/finish will be at Gavan’s Hotel in Quyon QC. There are two routes offered: 105km – no gravel and 155km with a wee bit of gravel road, good gravel.
This is an unsupported ride so be sure to have a couple of spare tubes and a good pump. There will be group leaders for both distances and as with all the WQW rides we encourage quality 2×2 group riding. This is not a hammerfest although we do release the hounds with the end in sight. No one will be left for dead.
Registration is at 8h30 and the start is at 10h00. Your registration fee include a roast beef dinner when we get back to the finish. Your first beer is NOT included in the price but is available for purchase at the end.
Vegetarian option is available but must be ordered at registration.
Cost is $25 for WQW members and $30 for non. (Be sure to have a few dollars for the ferry ride and a depanneur stop.)
Club rules regarding whining, windging, crying, biting and scratching, complaining, hairpulling and even whimpering will be in effect and Gary will be closely monitoring the situation.
We have returned to our original date, the first weekend of October so the weather will be great! Come on up and discover some beautiful cycling in the Ottawa Valley.
